What is gas handling equipment?

The components that turn stored product into controlled supply — regulators, valves, manifolds, filters, dryers, hoses and instrumentation — each rated for a specific pressure, temperature and gas service.

What should I check before putting used components into service?

Confirm the pressure and temperature ratings against your application, and check the wetted materials and seat or seal materials for compatibility with your gas. Inspect for corrosion, damaged threads or flange faces, and evidence of prior over-pressure. Rebuild kits are cheap relative to a failure in service.

What makes oxygen service different?

Oxygen service requires components cleaned to a recognised standard and built from compatible materials, with no hydrocarbon contamination anywhere in the wetted path. Unless a component is documented as oxygen clean, assume it is not. Cleaning and certification is a real cost and should be priced in before purchase.

What documentation is worth asking for?

Nameplate or body markings identifying model and rating, any material certifications, and cleaning certification where the intended service demands it. For instrumentation, the last calibration record.
