Questions buyers ask
What does this equipment do in a gas system?
This swing check valve prevents reverse flow in process piping, allowing flow in one direction while automatically closing when flow stops or reverses. The swing disc design minimizes pressure drop during operation. It can be used in systems handling steam, gas, oil, and water.
What pressure and flow is it rated for?
The valve is rated for 1,480 PSI cold working pressure at 100°F and carries an ASME Class 600 designation. The specific size and corresponding flow capacity are not stated in the listing.
What gases is it compatible with?
The valve is suitable for a variety of process media including gas, steam, oil, and water. Specific gas compatibility depends on the material compatibility of WCB carbon steel with the service conditions. The valve is rated for temperatures from -20°F to 800°F.
What should I check before buying used gas handling equipment?
Verify the pressure and temperature ratings meet your system requirements and confirm the body and trim materials are compatible with your process media. Inspect the sealing surfaces, particularly the Stellite hard-faced seat, for wear or damage, and check the disc and hinge for free movement and proper alignment. Confirm the valve size and end connection type match your piping.
