What are you hunting for?
Free. Vendors across the industry see the board, and you hear about matches first.
How the Wanted Board Works
A faster way to find hard-to-source equipment
Industrial gas and cryogenic equipment doesn't move like consumer goods — a used LIN tank, a specific vaporizer model, or a decommissioned compressor can sit for months before the right buyer and the right vendor find each other. The Wanted Board flips that search around: instead of scanning listings hoping something matches, buyers post exactly what they need, and vendors across the industry see it.
Every post above is a real request from a buyer — an end user, a dealer, a broker, an engineer sourcing for a project. Each one is reviewed before it goes live, which keeps the board real requests instead of noise. If you stock something that matches, the "I have this" button sends your contact details straight to Metal Mountain, who connects you with the buyer directly — no listing fee, no bidding war, just a warm introduction.
Posting a request costs nothing. Add detail — capacity, pressure rating, condition, your general location, and how soon you need it — and the match tends to happen faster. Requests stay live for 60 days and can be reopened from your account if you're still looking.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the Wanted Board
What is the Metal Mountain Wanted Board?
A free, public list of equipment buyers across the industrial gas, cryogenic and power equipment industry are actively hunting for. Post what you need, and any vendor on Metal Mountain — or anyone browsing the board — can say they have it.
Is it free to post a Wanted request?
Yes. Posting costs nothing, whether or not anything ever comes of it.
Does my request show up on the board right away?
No. Every post is reviewed before it goes public, usually within a business day. That review is what keeps the board real requests from real buyers instead of spam.
Who sees my name, email and phone number?
Only Metal Mountain. The public board shows your request, tags and the date — never your contact details. A vendor who has what you need responds through an "I have this" form, and Metal Mountain connects the two of you directly.
How long does a Wanted post stay active?
60 days from approval. From your account's "My wanted list" tab you can reopen it for another 60 days anytime, or mark it filled once you've found what you needed.
Can I edit my request after posting it?
Yes, from your account. Changing the description sends it back for a quick review before it's public again — small fixes like a typo are usually approved fast.
What kind of equipment can I post a request for?
Anything in Metal Mountain's categories — cryogenic storage tanks and trailers, vaporizers, compressors, pumps, high-pressure vessels, power generation equipment and more. If your gas or equipment type isn't in the dropdowns, describe it in the request and it gets matched by hand.
How fast do vendors typically respond to a Wanted post?
It depends on how common the equipment is. Common items — tube trailers, standard vaporizers — often get a response within days; specialized or older equipment can take longer. We don't guarantee a match or a timeline, only that we'll reach out the moment a vendor responds.
Can a vendor post their own inventory here instead of a Wanted request?
No — the Wanted Board is for buyers. A vendor lists their own inventory from their dashboard, and can respond to a specific Wanted post with "I have this" if they stock a match.
What should I include in my request for the best match?
Specifics: capacity, pressure rating, condition, your general location, and how soon you need it. "150,000-gallon LIN tank, used condition, need within 60 days" gets matched faster than "looking for a tank."
