Who we are
Metal Mountain Equipment ("Metal Mountain," "we," "us") operates metalmountainequipment.com and related vendor storefront sites — a marketplace for industrial gas, cryogenic, and power generation equipment.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit an inquiry, request pricing, post to the Wanted Board, or contact a seller, we collect what you provide: name, email address, phone number, company, preferred contact time, and the contents of your message. When vendors create accounts, we collect business contact and billing details.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect standard usage data — pages visited, referring site, browser type, and approximate location derived from IP address — used to operate the site, measure traffic, and attribute inquiries to their source.
How we use your information
When you inquire about a piece of equipment, your contact details and message are delivered to the vendor selling that equipment so they can respond — that is the purpose of the form. We also use information to operate and improve the marketplace, show vendors where their inquiries came from, respond to your requests, send service emails you have asked for (such as equipment alerts you opt into), and prevent fraud and abuse.
Where you inquire matters
Inquiries made on metalmountainequipment.com. Your inquiry is delivered to the vendor selling the equipment, and Metal Mountain may also contact you about your inquiry — for example, to help you find the equipment you are looking for or to tell you about closely matching equipment on the marketplace. If you check the box asking to be connected with additional sellers, we may share your inquiry with other vendors offering similar equipment — that sharing happens only when you ask for it.
Inquiries made on a vendor's own storefront site (a vendor subdomain or a vendor's own domain powered by Metal Mountain). Your inquiry belongs to that vendor and goes only to them. Metal Mountain stores and processes it solely as the infrastructure provider for that vendor and does not use it to contact you.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. Outside of the cases described above, we do not share your details with anyone other than the service providers who run our infrastructure. Vendors receiving your inquiry may only use your details to respond to it.
Service providers
We rely on a small set of infrastructure providers to run this site: hosting and content delivery, database and authentication, and transactional email delivery. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service to us.
Data retention
Inquiry and lead records are retained so vendors can manage their sales pipeline and so we can operate the marketplace. Wanted Board posts expire automatically after 60 days. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time using the contact below.
Your choices and rights
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). To exercise any of these, email us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to run the site — such as keeping vendors signed in to their dashboards — and basic analytics to understand site usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls that limit each vendor to their own records. No system is perfectly secure, but we design ours so that the least amount of data is exposed to the fewest parties.
Children
This site is a business-to-business marketplace and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
