Questions buyers ask

What gases is it compatible with, and has it been oxygen cleaned?

This is a pneumatic actuator, so compatibility refers to the air or instrument gas supply driving it, not process media. Fisher Y692 actuators typically operate on standard instrument air (filtered, dry, oil-free); the listing does not indicate oxygen service cleaning or certification. If you're using the actuator in oxygen service or on a valve handling oxygen, confirm with the seller whether it has been oxygen cleaned and whether elastomers are compatible.

What materials are the wetted parts?

Pneumatic actuators do not contact process media—the "wetted parts" are in the valve body itself, not the actuator. The actuator's internal components (diaphragm, seals, springs) contact only instrument air. If your concern is process compatibility, you need the valve body's materials of construction; ask the seller whether this actuator is being sold with a valve or as a standalone unit.

What should I inspect before putting it into service?

The listing states this unit must be re-certified before use. At a minimum, inspect the diaphragm for cracks or wear, check spring integrity and confirm the spring range matches your application, verify the stem and linkage for corrosion or damage, and bench-test stroke response across the full signal range to confirm calibration. Pneumatic actuators typically require seal replacement and recalibration after storage or when service history is unknown.
