Description
The Endress + Hauser Deltabar FMD72 is an electronic differential pressure measurement system that uses two digital sensors to monitor pressure, level, volume, and mass in pressurized tanks, distillation columns, and evaporators. The system calculates level measurements in the transmitter by comparing high and low pressure sensor inputs, eliminating the mechanical impulse lines and seals found in traditional DP installations. This 2022 unit measures 400 mbar to 10 bar and delivers ±0.07% system accuracy with 4–20 mA HART output.

Questions buyers ask
What pressure, flow and temperature is it rated for?
This unit measures 400 mbar to 10 bar (6–150 PSI) and is rated for process temperatures from -40°C to +125°C (-40°F to +257°F), with an optional extension to 250°C (480°F). This is a differential pressure measurement system, not a flow meter—it calculates level, volume, and mass in pressurized vessels by comparing two pressure sensor inputs.
What should I inspect before putting it into service?
Verify the sensor diaphragms for any physical damage, corrosion, or deformation, and confirm the process connection threads or flanges are intact without cross-threading or erosion. Test the 4–20 mA HART output and run a diagnostic check through the HART interface to verify sensor zero points, span accuracy, and any stored error history. Confirm the sensor serial numbers match the transmitter configuration, review the previous service fluid for compatibility with your application, and verify that all certifications (ATEX, FM, IECEx) are current if required for your classified area.
