Description
This is a used Kimray 212 SMA PO pneumatic control valve with a 2" female NPT connection and angled cast ductile body. It operates with a linear trim rated for up to 400 psig working pressure, with a Cv range of 8.5 to 23.3 and Class VI leakage rating. The valve is air-to-close with an actuator spring that opens at 10 psig and reaches full open at 35 psig.

Questions buyers ask
What pressure, flow and temperature is it rated for?
This valve is rated for a maximum working pressure of 400 psig with a flow coefficient (Cv) ranging from 8.5 to 23.3 depending on valve position. The listing does not provide temperature ratings; ask the seller for the maximum and minimum service temperature limits for the specific trim and seal materials included.
What materials are the wetted parts?
The body is cast ductile iron with a 1.5" linear trim, but the listing does not specify the trim material, seat material, or seal materials. Ask the seller for the complete bill of materials including trim, seats, seals, and stem material, as these determine chemical compatibility and service suitability.
What should I inspect before putting it into service?
Verify the actuator spring operates correctly—it should crack open at 10 psig and reach full open at 35 psig—and confirm the valve closes on loss of air supply. Inspect the trim and seat for wear, erosion, or scoring, particularly if previous service involved abrasive or flashing fluids, and bench-test for Class VI leakage to ensure the seat remains tight. Check all NPT threads for damage and verify the body has no cracks or corrosion, especially at stress points around the connections and bonnet flange.
