Description
This is a new Sherwood CGA350 high-pressure valve for hydrogen and carbon monoxide service, built with a forged brass body and rated for working pressures between 3,360 and 4,000 PSI. The valve features a unitized plug pressure relief device, enhanced metal-to-metal seal below the bonnet threads to prevent pressure buildup in the thread area, and a direct-drive stem with optimized O-ring seals for low-friction operation. It is manufactured using automated assembly and testing processes and is 100% helium leak tested to meet international performance standards.
Valve Construction:
Heavy-duty forged brass body for durability and high-pressure applications
Precisely machined internal components for optimal sealing and performance
Unitized plug Pressure Relief Device (PRD) for excellent flow, proper assembly, and tamper resistance
Enhanced metal-to-metal seal below bonnet threads prevents pressure buildup in thread area
Direct-drive stem design with optimized O-ring (GSV) or double O-ring (GSVH) seals for low-friction, smooth operation
Inlet tapped (1/4" NPT) for dip tube installation if required
Designed and tested for long service life under demanding conditions

Questions buyers ask
What pressure, flow and temperature is it rated for?
This valve is rated for maximum working pressures of 3,360, 3,775, or 4,000 PSI depending on configuration. The Cv flow factor is 0.690 (standard), and the pressure relief device has a flow capacity of 60 CFM at 100 PSI. Operating temperature range is -50°F to +149°F, with a storage range of -65°F to +155°F.
What gases is it compatible with, and has it been oxygen cleaned?
This valve is specified for hydrogen (H₂) and carbon monoxide (CO) service. The listing does not indicate oxygen cleaning or oxygen service compatibility—ask the seller if you require oxygen-cleaned condition or documentation.
What materials are the wetted parts?
The body is forged brass, and the listing specifies optimized O-ring or double O-ring seals (GSV/GSVH design) with an enhanced metal-to-metal seal below the bonnet threads. The listing does not detail the specific alloys or seal materials—request a full materials specification sheet if you need exact alloy composition or elastomer type for compatibility verification.
What should I inspect before putting it into service?
Verify the CGA350 outlet threads and 3/4" NGT inlet threads are clean and undamaged, check that the PRD is intact and properly torqued (25–35 in.-lbs.), and confirm the bonnet is torqued to specification (50–60 ft.-lbs.). Typical pre-service practice for high-pressure valves includes a visual inspection for shipping damage, confirmation that all protective caps are removed, and a pressure test at your system operating pressure to verify seat integrity before connecting to your gas supply.
