Questions buyers ask
What condition is it in, and what service has it seen?
This unit is listed as new condition and was manufactured in 2020. No service history is provided, which is consistent with new equipment that has not been placed into operation.
What certification or inspection status does it carry?
No ASME stamp, National Board registration, or third-party inspection documentation is mentioned in the listing. Ask the seller whether this unit carries an ASME U-stamp and whether any inspection reports or manufacturer's data reports are available, as these are standard for pressure vessels in this service range.
What should I inspect before putting it into service?
Verify gasket condition and flange faces for damage from storage, confirm all nozzle threads or flanges are intact, and check for any corrosion if the unit has been stored outdoors or in humid conditions. Shell and tube exchangers typically require confirmation that tube-to-tubesheet joints show no signs of separation and that internal baffles are secure, which may require opening the unit if it has removable heads or bonnets.
