Description
This is a new, never-used Chart HS-18000 SC-175 horizontal LNG storage tank with an 18,000 gallon capacity, 175 PSIG design pressure, and two integrated TC34 cryogenic pumps. Built in 2016 and originally procured for a project but never installed, the tank is designed for both underground and above-ground installation. Complete engineering drawings and schematics are included.
This tank is uniquely designed for both underground and above-ground storage installations, making it highly versatile. We have complete set of drawings and schematics making any engineering and approval requirements easy.
With today’s long lead times and supply chain constraints, the ability to purchase a ready-to-ship, large-scale LNG storage system with pumps is a rare find. Perfect for LNG fueling stations, industrial gas facilities, or cryogenic energy storage projects.

Questions buyers ask
What is the current vacuum reading, and what is the NER?
The listing does not provide current vacuum readings or normal evaporation rate data. Since this tank was never put into service, baseline vacuum quality and thermal performance metrics should be available from the original factory acceptance testing — request those documents along with any storage history that might affect insulation performance.
What product has it held, and what can it be converted to?
This tank has never been in service and has held no product. The 304 stainless inner vessel is compatible with LNG, LIN, LOX, and LAR without material concerns, though any conversion from the original LNG design intent would require review of the relief sizing, instrumentation ranges, and vaporizer capacity if applicable.
Is the data plate legible, and is the U-1A available?
The listing does not address data plate condition or U-1A documentation availability. For ASME-coded vessels, the U-1A manufacturer's data report is essential for jurisdictional acceptance and should be confirmed present along with the National Board registration number.
What is involved in relocating and re-commissioning it?
At 79,300 lbs and 168" height, transport will require heavy haul permitting and escort in most states; the 536" length may dictate route restrictions. Re-commissioning a vacuum-insulated cryogenic tank typically requires vacuum pump-down verification to acceptable NER levels, hydrostatic or pneumatic testing per jurisdictional requirements, relief device recertification, and TC34 pump functional testing — confirm what was completed during the original 2016 acceptance and what documentation exists.
