Questions buyers ask

What is the current vacuum reading, and what is the NER?

The listing does not provide current vacuum readings or normal evaporation rate data. Ask the seller for recent vacuum hold performance, annulus pressure trend, and NER measurements taken within the last six months, as these are critical indicators of insulation condition on a 1970-era tank.

What product has it held, and what can it be converted to?

The listing specifies this tank was designed for liquid methane service at -320°F minimum design metal temperature. Generally, cryogenic vessels built for methane or LNG can handle other products with warmer service temperatures (such as liquid nitrogen at -320°F or ethylene at -155°F) without rerating, but any conversion requires reviewing the original metallurgy and ASME stamping against the proposed service.

Is the data plate legible, and is the U-1A available?

The listing does not confirm data plate condition or U-1A form availability. Request photos of the data plate showing the ASME stamp, National Board number, and manufacturer's serial number, along with a copy of the original U-1A Manufacturer's Data Report, as both are typically required for registration and jurisdictional inspections.
