Questions buyers ask

What is the current vacuum reading, and what is the NER?

The listing does not provide a current vacuum reading or net evaporation rate. Ask the seller for recent hold time data or the last documented vacuum level, as these are the primary indicators of inner vessel and insulation integrity on stationary transports. Nitrogen Queens in serviceable condition typically hold vacuum in the 10⁻⁵ to 10⁻⁶ Torr range, with NER under 1% per day for LN2.

Is the data plate legible, and is the U-1A available?

The listing does not confirm data plate condition or U-1A availability. The U-1A form (Manufacturer's Data Report) is essential for pressure vessel recertification and establishing design parameters, while a legible data plate with serial number, MAWP, and ASME code stamp is required for inspection and regulatory compliance. Request copies of both before purchase.

What is involved in relocating and re-commissioning it?

The listing indicates this is a stationary transport unit but does not detail mounting configuration or auxiliary equipment. Relocation typically requires purging, warm-up, disconnection of fill/withdrawal systems, crane service for the vessel, and flatbed transport; re-commissioning requires foundation prep, releveling, piping reconnection, vacuum verification, and often pressure vessel recertification depending on jurisdiction and time since last inspection. Ask the seller whether skid-mounted or pad-mounted, and when the last ASME inspection was performed.
