Questions buyers ask
What flow and head is this rated for, and at what NPSH?
This unit is rated for 70 GPM at 1057 feet of head, with an NPSHR of 3.7 feet. The pump operates at 7000 RPM with a 6.00 inch impeller diameter and requires 15.2 HP input power at these conditions.
What service has it been in, and what were the running hours?
The skid is rated for LN2, LAR, and LNG service with intermittent duty classification. The listing does not specify what liquid it actually pumped or accumulated running hours—ask the seller for service records, hour meter readings if available, and whether it was in continuous or truly intermittent operation.
What should I inspect on a used pump before buying?
Check shaft runout and bearing condition by rotating by hand, look for casing cracks or frost damage especially at nozzles, and verify impeller clearances if disassembly is possible. On cryogenic centrifugals specifically, inspect the motor-to-pump coupling or spline for galling, check that all instrumentation ports are intact, and review any wear ring or seal replacement history since these typically govern remaining service life.
