Questions buyers ask

What is the MAWP and capacity at service pressure?

The unit is rated for 700 PSIG operating pressure with a 36,000-gallon capacity. The listing does not specify the Maximum Allowable Working Pressure (MAWP), which may be higher than the stated operating pressure—request nameplate data to confirm the design pressure and any derated operating limits.

What is the requalification or inspection status?

The listing states the unit was inspected but could not be located during a recent inventory review and appears to be in storage. No dates, test results, or certification status are provided. For DOT trailers, requalification is typically required every five years; for ASME vessels, inspection intervals depend on jurisdiction and service—confirm current certification status and last test date with the seller before purchase.

What should I inspect before putting it into service?

Verify the vessel certification type and current test status, then inspect all welds, the outer jacket for damage, and the vacuum insulation integrity (a rise in pressure after cooldown indicates vacuum loss). Check the pressure relief devices for proper set points and test dates, examine the piping and the 1-1/2" Class 300 RF flange connection for damage, and inspect the fifth wheel trailer chassis for road worthiness if you intend to move it.
