Questions buyers ask

What is the current vacuum reading, and what is the NER?

The listing does not provide current vacuum reading or net evaporation rate data. Request these from the seller along with the date of last vacuum check. On trailer-mounted cryogenic tanks, vacuum degradation is common due to road vibration and manifold flex, so current readings and recent vacuum history are critical to assess whether the unit will meet the stated 8-hour hold time under your operating conditions.

Is the data plate legible, and is the U-1A available?

The listing does not confirm data plate condition or U-1A form availability. Request photos of the data plate and copies of the U-1A manufacturer's data report from the seller. The U-1A is required for most jurisdictions to re-register the vessel, and an illegible data plate may require affidavit processes or stamping authority involvement that can delay commissioning by months.

What is involved in relocating and re-commissioning it?

This is a 40 ft 5th wheel trailer configuration, so relocation requires a heavy-duty tractor with appropriate fifth wheel coupling and permits for oversize load in most states. Re-commissioning typically involves vacuum and pressure testing, relief valve recertification, vaporizer checkout, and jurisdictional inspection, with timelines depending heavily on the current vacuum condition and whether the U-1A and prior inspection records are available.
