Is this ASME or DOT rated, and what does that allow me to do with it?

This vessel is ASME-rated with U-Stamp certification (U-1A) and National Board registration. ASME Section VIII vessels are designed for stationary pressure service at fixed installations—process lines, buffer storage, surge capacity, or reaction vessels. They cannot be used for transport over public roads, which requires DOT certification.

What is the MAWP and capacity at service pressure?

The maximum allowable working pressure is 265 PSIG. The capacity is 2,000 liters, and since this is a storage vessel rather than a gas cylinder, the capacity does not change with pressure—you get the full 2,000-liter volume at any pressure up to the 265 PSIG limit.

What should I inspect before putting it into service?

Verify the data plate is intact and legible, confirming MAWP, serial number, and National Board number match registration records.
