Questions buyers ask
What is the current vacuum reading, and what is the NER?
The listing does not provide the current vacuum level or normalized evaporation rate. Request the most recent vacuum reading in microns and the NER measured in gallons per day or percentage of capacity per day—these are the two most critical indicators of insulation performance and remaining service life on a vacuum-insulated cryogenic tank.
What product has it held, and what can it be converted to?
This tank was in liquid oxygen service. LOX tanks can typically be converted to liquid nitrogen or liquid argon service after cleaning and purging, but conversion to flammable cryogens requires rerating and is often not permitted due to ASME and insurance restrictions. Confirm the full service history and verify with your jurisdiction and insurer before any product change.
Is the data plate legible, and is the U-1A available?
The listing does not confirm data plate condition or U-1A availability. The National Board number is listed as 5637, which allows for record retrieval, but you should verify that the physical data plate is intact and request copies of the original U-1A manufacturer's data report and any U-3 inspection reports—these are required for re-registration in most jurisdictions.
