Questions buyers ask
What is the MAWP and capacity at service pressure?
The system MAWP is 6,715 PSI with a service pressure of 4,884 PSI per the tag specs. The compressor outlet rating is 5,000 PSI with a flow capacity of 85 SCFM or 50 GGE/hr. Storage sphere volumes are not stated in the listing; request the individual vessel capacities in SCF or water volume to calculate total buffered storage and cascade fill strategy for your duty cycle.
What is the requalification or inspection status?
The listing does not provide current inspection or requalification status. The unit was decommissioned on 03/03/2025 after 1014 compressor hours. CNG storage vessels typically require requalification every 3, 5, or 15 years depending on code construction and jurisdiction; request the last inspection dates, hydro test records, and any outstanding due dates before purchase to budget downtime and compliance costs.
What should I inspect before putting it into service?
At 1014 hours with documented oil service, the Sauer compressor is early in its life, but verify valve condition, intercooler integrity, and vibration levels during a witnessed run. Inspect all storage sphere welds, supports, and PRV set dates—CNG service causes hydrogen embrittlement over time in susceptible materials. Confirm the Fuel Master dispenser calibration, hose condition, breakaway function, and that all pressure relief devices are in-date and set correctly for your operating pressure.
