Questions buyers ask

What is the current vacuum reading, and what is the NER?

The listing does not provide the current vacuum reading or net evaporation rate. Request both the cold vacuum level (typically measured in microns or torr) and the NER in percentage per day or gallons per day, along with the date of last vacuum test. Cryogenic ISO containers typically require vacuum levels below 50 microns for acceptable thermal performance, and NER degrades over time as the vacuum insulation deteriorates.

Is the data plate legible, and is the U-1A available?

The listing does not address data plate condition or documentation availability. Request confirmation that the ASME data plate is intact and readable, and ask whether the U-1A manufacturer's data report and any in-service inspection records are available. These documents are essential for recertification and jurisdictional acceptance, particularly if you plan to transport across state lines or internationally.

What is involved in relocating and re-commissioning it?

The listing notes this is a 43-foot overall length trailer-mounted unit available for lease only, but does not detail current operating status or documentation. Before moving, verify that the trailer is road-legal with current DOT inspection, the container has valid relief valve certifications, and you have the required hazmat placarding and driver endorsements. Re-commissioning typically requires vacuum verification, pressure testing, relief valve bench testing, and potentially piping modifications to match your facility connections.
