Questions buyers ask

What is the current vacuum reading, and what is the NER?

The listing does not provide the current vacuum reading or normalized evaporation rate for this unit. For new cryogenic vessels, acceptable vacuum levels are typically in the 50-500 micron range depending on insulation type, and NER is often specified as a percentage of capacity per day; request both the current vacuum gauge reading and documented NER from the seller to confirm insulation performance.

What product has it held, and what can it be converted to?

The listing indicates this is a new condition unit, so it has not held product in service. New cryogenic vessels can typically be commissioned for any cryogenic gas (LOX, LIN, LAR, LCO2) provided the design pressure and temperature ratings are compatible, though oxygen service requires specific cleaning protocols per CGA G-4.1 before introduction.

Is the data plate legible, and is the U-1A available?

The listing confirms ASME code certification with National Board registration but does not address data plate condition or U-1A form availability. Request photos of the nameplate showing the NB number and MAWP, and ask the seller to provide the U-1A manufacturer's data report, which is essential for registration transfer and jurisdictional acceptance.

What is involved in relocating and re-commissioning it?

Cryogenic skids typically require a hydraulic crane or heavy forklift for loading, appropriate tie-down for DOT compliance during transport, and may need oversize permits depending on skid dimensions. Re-commissioning generally involves foundation preparation, utility connections, pressure testing, vacuum verification, and jurisdictional inspection if required by the state; new vessels should not require requalification but confirm the U-1A is available for local authority registration.
