Questions buyers ask

What is the current vacuum reading, and what is the NER?

The listing does not provide vacuum insulation performance data or normalized evaporation rate for this tank. For cryogenic hydrogen service, you'll want to request the current vacuum level (typically measured in microns or torr) and NER as a percentage of capacity per day—these are critical metrics that should be verified before purchase, especially on a recently manufactured vessel that may not have service history to demonstrate long-term insulation performance.

Is the data plate legible, and is the U-1A available?

The listing confirms ASME NB certification but does not address data plate condition or documentation availability. You should verify that the nameplate is intact and legible, and request the U-1A Manufacturer's Data Report and any form U-1B for post-construction work—these documents are essential for jurisdictional acceptance and any future modifications or recertification.

What is involved in relocating and re-commissioning it?

The unit is 128" tall with a 24" x 24" base footprint and is noted as ready for WAX coating, suggesting it may require surface preparation or protection for transport. High-pressure cryogenic vessels typically require vacuum pump-down and leak testing after relocation to verify insulation integrity, along with recalibration of pressure relief devices and instrumentation—allow for rigging and transport considerations given the height, and confirm with your jurisdiction whether a post-installation inspection or notification is required for the ASME NB code.
