Questions buyers ask

What is the current vacuum reading, and what is the NER?

The listing does not provide current vacuum reading or net evaporation rate data. Request the most recent vacuum gauge reading (typically measured in microns) and the NER in gallons or percentage per day, along with the date of last measurement. On bulk cryogenic tanks, vacuum degradation is the primary indicator of perlite or MLI insulation performance, and NER above 0.3-0.5% daily usually signals the need for re-evacuation or annulus repair.

Is the data plate legible, and is the U-1A available?

The listing does not confirm data plate condition or ASME U-1A form availability. Request photos of the original manufacturer's data plate and the ASME U-1A Manufacturer's Data Report. Both are required for vessel recertification and jurisdictional acceptance; without the U-1A, you will face delays with authorized inspectors and some states will not permit operation regardless of visible stamping.

What is involved in relocating and re-commissioning it?

Relocation of this vessel requires rigging capable of handling outer vessel dimensions 108" x 96" x 279", over-dimensional transport permitting, specialized cryogenic equipment movers, and typically a crane with 30+ ton capacity for offloading. Re-commissioning requires foundation work, piping connections to the 2" CL.300 nozzles, vacuum verification or re-evacuation if readings are degraded, pressure testing per ASME standards, authorized inspector sign-off, and jurisdictional registration before fill.
